our factory and process

handcrafted in san diego, california

Every Landon Hunter frame is handmade at our San Diego facility, where modern technology meets traditional craftsmanship. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at how we transform your photos into heirloom-quality art.

our 4-step process

01

you upload

Choose any image from your phone, computer, or cloud storage. Our secure upload system accepts JPG, PNG, GIF, PDF, TIF, and TIFF files up to 50MB. Select your preferred style (metal or wood) and size.

02

we print

Metal Prints: We use dye-sublimation technology to print your image directly onto steel. Heat transfers the ink into the metal surface, creating vibrant, fade-resistant, waterproof prints that last for decades.

Wood Prints: Your image is printed on high-gloss MDF with professional photo-quality equipment, ensuring rich colors and sharp details.

03

we craft

This is where the magic happens. Each piece of reclaimed wood is carefully selected, cleaned, and prepared. Our craftspeople hand-build every frame, mounting your print with precision and care.

For metal prints, we use industrial corner screws for a modern look. For wood frames, we create traditional joinery that's both beautiful and strong. Every frame is sanded, finished, and inspected before moving to the final step.

04

we ship

Before we package your frame, it goes through rigorous quality control. We inspect the print quality, frame construction, mounting, and hanging hardware to ensure everything is perfect.

Your custom frame is carefully wrapped and packaged to protect it during shipping. It arrives at your door ready to hang, complete with all necessary hardware and instructions.

about our reclaimed wood

Our reclaimed wood comes from authentic sources across the United States—old barns, warehouses, fences, and structures that have weathered decades of sun, rain, and time. This history gives each piece its unique character: natural grain patterns, nail holes, weathering marks, and color variations.

We carefully source, clean, and prepare each board while preserving its authentic character. This means every Landon Hunter frame is truly one-of-a-kind. The piece you receive will have its own unique wood grain and rustic features that can't be replicated.

why reclaimed wood?

  • Sustainability - Gives old materials new purpose, reducing waste
  • Character - Natural weathering creates beauty you can't manufacture
  • Quality - Old-growth wood is often denser and more durable
  • Story - Each piece carries history and authenticity
  • Uniqueness - No two frames are exactly alike
